Working across the globe V2 X builds smart solutions designed to integrate physical and digital infrastructure from base to battlefield We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security streamline logistics and enhance readiness Aligned around a shared purpose our 3 9 B company and 16 000 people work alongside our clients here and abroad to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity respect responsibility and professionalism Data Center Network Engineers support the Enterprise‑class infrastructure of the RCC‑SWA RCC‑SWA engineers provide optimization administration and technical documentation of all enterprise infrastructure systems Additionally engineers resolve and appropriately complete assigned cases and change requests while acting as an escalation point for troubleshooting issues The core infrastructure technology duties include an in-depth understanding of Cisco's Nexus switching ASR routing UCS compute platforms and lifecycle management planning The MCF is managed by the RCC‑SWA and provides enterprise Information Technology IT services to approved Army customers Program OMDAC‑SWACA Benefits company‑paid housing and transportation completion bonus tuition reimbursement program Responsibilities Produce enterprise‑level support for a dynamic and large‑scale networking infrastructure from the perspective of service origination in the data center as well as service delivery in the global transport architecture Provide expert level knowledge of data center infrastructure hardware such as Nexus 9000 series switches Fabric Extenders UCS chassis and UCS Fabric Interconnects Along with assuming the expert role regarding v PC FCo E Catalyst VSS MPLS L3 VPN e BGP i BGP OSPF EIGRP DMVPN Flex Pod design philosophy among other tunneling and data center‑centric technologies While also offering a basic understanding of VMware's v Sphere infrastructure and the virtual networking components for troubleshooting purposes Installation configuration maintenance and troubleshooting of the data center environment are primary roles in this position Provides change control and engages Cisco TAC for issues modifications and best practices when needed Monitors availability and reliability of the data center network and supported infrastructure utilizing DX Net Ops Spectrum Solar Winds Orion and Cisco DNA Center Executes engineering best practices in network builds integration testing and documentation while adhering to security fundamentals provided by DISA's Security Technical Implementation Guides STIGs Performs regular system maintenance in support of IAVA vulnerabilities and CCRI compliance Ensure that all managed technologies are compliant with current DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides STIGs Assist with identifying and investigating malicious network activity Create and track network issues requests using the Service Now ticketing system Create update and maintain detailed network diagrams Performs other duties and assignments as required Requirements Requires an active Secret Clearance. One-year related experience can be substituted for one year of education if the degree is required. Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Computer Science or MIS, IS, Engineering or related field. This position requires candidates to adhere to Do D 8570.01 M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. Baseline certifications cannot also be used as a Computing Environment (CE) certification. One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree in a Software Engineering or Business Information Systems discipline for three years general experience. At least 10 years of practical experience working with network and systems technologies. A full understanding of cloud computing and the different pillars that support cloud computing (Iaa S, Paa S, Saa S). Experience working with Cisco Nexus and cloud technologies. Expert level of understanding and experience with data network systems, routing, switching, Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF), MPLS, and layer 2 protocols. Experience with VPN technologies. A solid background with TCP/IP and must be able to troubleshoot all supported network protocols. Experience with creating and maintaining custom python scripts. Experience working with and maintaining Cisco DNA Center. Experience with a customer service‑oriented company. Skills & Technology Used Ability to verify that all systems under the direct control of RCC‑SWA are properly configured in accordance with the NETCOM, RCC‑SWA and DISA STIG configuration policies. Ability to manage asset documentation for accreditation and authorization. Ability to assess networking requirements and provide solutions. Ability to make accurate and independent decisions under pressure. Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously. Expert ability to troubleshoot infrastructure equipment. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform comfortably in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented work environment.
