Job Description

Job Summary The Electrical Manning Technician provides hands-on operational coverage of the data center s electrical infrastructure including routine inspections first-line maintenance equipment monitoring and alarm response The role operates under the direction of the Electrical Engineer and carries out assigned activities in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions The Electrical Engineer retains responsibility for maintenance planning technical authorization and approval of work Key Responsibilities Perform routine rounds and inspections of high-voltage HV and medium-voltage MV switchgear transformers low-voltage LV switchboards main distribution boards MDBs sub-main distribution boards SMDBs distribution boards DBs motor control centers MCCs automatic transfer switches ATS uninterruptible power supplies UPS batteries and generators and record operating parameters Execute electrical switching isolation and restoration strictly in accordance with approved procedures and authorization from the Electrical Engineer within the technician s training and authorized scope Perform first-line preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved Methods of Procedure MOPs and job cards Support diesel generator DG operations through daily checks test run assistance fuel system inspections and equipment readiness checks Respond promptly to electrical alarms trips and faults and elevate incidents to the Electrical Engineer in accordance with approved procedures Inspect equipment for signs of overheating loose connections abnormal noise burning odors and physical damage and report defects immediately Support electrical testing activities including insulation resistance continuity and circuit breaker functional testing under the Electrical Engineer s direction Assist and escort Original Equipment Manufacturer OEM and vendor teams during servicing and maintenance activities under the Electrical Engineer s supervision Comply with lockout tagout LOTO arc flash safety precautions permit-to-work requirements Standard Operating Procedures SOPs MOPs and Emergency Operating Procedures EOPs at all times Maintain accurate shift logs equipment readings inspection checklists shift handover records and job card closure documentation Carry out all activities in a manner that preserves electrical system availability redundancy and safety Diploma or Industrial Training Institute (ITI) qualification in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance. Experience in data centers or other critical facilities is preferred. Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams and follow written procedures and work instructions accurately. Ability to safely perform field-based inspections and hands-on maintenance activities. Basic written and spoken English sufficient for maintaining logs, understanding work instructions, and communicating clearly over the radio. #J-18808-Ljbffr
