Safety engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To lead a small team of safety officers in order to promote and maintain a safe working environment. JOB OBJECTIVES To advise all project personnel and subcontractors regarding safe working practices and to develop safety consciousness. To ensure that every employee is informed and trained to perform their job in a productive and safe way in accordance with company policies & procedures. To ensure that authorised programmes of accident prevention, and emergency evacuation are in place. To maintain a safe and productive working environment by conducting appropriate safety, corrective action, job hazard, and inspections on a regular basis. To ensure that accident investigations are conducted, when appropriate, in accordance with Company policies & procedures, under the direction of the Safety Department. To continuously provide specialist advice & education on safety matters to all project personnel. To promote a positive HSE attitude amongst project employees using an authorised scheme of incentives and deterrents. ESSENTIAL WORK ACTIVITIES Implementing/Coordinating Motivating Controlling/ Directing Disciplining/Disputes/Grievances Presenting/Instruction/Briefing Appraising/Evaluating/Developing Learning/Researching PR/Developing Relationships SAFETY AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain standards of safety and comply with Company’s Occupational Health & Safety Management System requirements. Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace. Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Engineering in any Engineering Discipline Company policies & procedures International Standards in Safety Clients Safety Policy First Aid Fire Fighting Emergency & Evacuation Skills Training Skills (including Presentation Skills) Supervisory Skills Auditing Skills 6 to10 years related work experience in Oil & gas Sector #J-18808-Ljbffr
